Everything you need to know about wholesale bamboo tees

Bamboo t-shirts are knit from viscose derived from bamboo, usually blended with cotton or a touch of spandex. The result is a drape and hand-feel most people compare to their most-washed favorite shirt on day one — noticeably cooler and silkier than standard cotton — with natural breathability that suits warm climates, studios and resort wear.

Buying wholesale is about matching fabric weight, blend and cut to how the shirts will be used and decorated. This guide covers the weights and blends we stock, how bamboo viscose compares to cotton and tri-blends, decoration methods that respect the fabric’s stretch, size curves, and how case pricing works. If you already know what you need, you can request a custom quote at any point.

Why go custom

The tee people actually keep wearing

Promo shirts get worn once when they’re scratchy. A bamboo t-shirt gets reached for on repeat — which means a logo on bamboo earns dramatically more impressions per shirt. For brands selling retail, the fabric story (soft, breathable, from a fast-renewing crop) practically writes the product page.

Softness that sells itself

Silky viscose-from-bamboo drape that outclasses standard cotton the moment it’s touched — the difference is the sales pitch.

Cool and breathable

Moisture-wicking and temperature-friendly, ideal for resorts, studios, warm-climate events and all-day wear.

Weights and blends

Bamboo fabric weights: which hand-feel do you need?

Fabric weight sets the drape, opacity and season. Lighter 140 gsm knits flow for resort and yoga wear; 160–180 gsm is the everyday retail zone; 200 gsm feels premium and holds structure. Here’s how the stocked weights compare.

Knit weight options (gsm)

0 50 100 150 200 140 gsm Featherweight 160 gsm Everyday 180 gsm Popular 200 gsm Premium

180 gsm is the retail sweet spot — opaque in white, structured enough to print, still unmistakably bamboo-soft.

Common blends (bamboo viscose share)

Higher viscose share means silkier drape; cotton content adds structure and easier decoration.

Why bamboo knits feel — and sell — different

Bamboo viscose fibers are rounder and smoother than cotton’s, which is why the knit feels silky rather than fuzzy and drapes close without clinging. The fabric wicks moisture, breathes in heat, and resists odor between washes — properties that make it a favorite for studios, resorts and anyone selling comfort as the product.

Bamboo itself is one of the fastest-growing crops on earth, regrowing from its own root system after harvest without replanting or irrigation in most climates. We blend viscose with combed cotton for printability and stability, or with 5% spandex where stretch and recovery matter — and every blend is cut in modern unisex and fitted silhouettes.

  • Viscose-from-bamboo knits — silky hand-feel, natural drape
  • Moisture-wicking and breathable — comfortable in heat and studios
  • Odor-resistant between washes — ideal for travel and activewear
  • Fast-renewing crop — regrows after harvest without replanting
  • Pre-shrunk blended knits — stable sizing wash after wash
  • Modern cuts XS–4XL — unisex and fitted, retail-standard curves

Bulk pricing

How wholesale bamboo tee pricing works

Blanks price per case by weight, blend and quantity; decoration adds per-location print or stitch cost that falls with volume. Bamboo blanks cost more than commodity cotton — and retail for two to three times as much, which is the margin story wholesale buyers come for.

FAQ

Wholesale bamboo tee questions, answered

What's the minimum order for wholesale pricing?
Blank case pricing starts at 48 tees; decorated runs typically start at 72–144 pieces depending on the method. Per-shirt pricing steps down at 144, 500 and 2,000 units.
Are bamboo shirts really softer than cotton?
Noticeably. Viscose-from-bamboo fibers are rounder and smoother than cotton fibers, so the knit feels silky immediately — no break-in washes — and drapes rather than boxes. It’s the first thing customers comment on.
Do bamboo tees shrink?
Our blends are pre-shrunk and stable when washed cool and tumbled low. Like any viscose blend, hot dryers are the enemy — care labels (or your custom labels) carry the right instructions.
Can you screen print on bamboo fabric?
Yes — with soft-hand water-based inks and stretch-tolerant technique. Heavy plastisol slabs fight the fabric’s drape, so we cure prints that flex with the knit. Embroidery uses backing engineered for stretch.
Blank or decorated — which should I order?
If you have a decorator you trust with stretch knits, blanks by the case work great. If not, our in-house printing and embroidery ships retail-ready and warranties the whole garment, decoration included.
What blend should I choose?
70/30 bamboo-cotton for structure, printability and everyday retail; 95/5 bamboo-spandex where stretch and drape lead (studios, resorts); tri-blends when you want a heathered look with bamboo softness.
Is bamboo fabric actually sustainable?
The crop is — bamboo regrows from its roots after harvest, fast, usually without irrigation or replanting. Fiber processing varies by mill, which is why we source from partners with closed-loop chemistry. Ask for our sourcing one-pager.
Can I private-label the shirts?
Yes. Tear-away tags swap for your printed neck label, and we can bag, fold and sticker to your retail spec — the shirt leaves here as your product.
What sizes are stocked?
XS through 4XL in unisex, with fitted cuts XS–2XL. Full size-curve cases let you order the ratio your program actually sells.
How does bamboo handle sweat and odor?
The knit wicks moisture and resists odor between washes better than cotton, which is why studios and travel brands favor it. It breathes in heat rather than trapping it.
Can you match my exact brand color?
Stocked palettes cover most programs; at volume (typically 2,000+ pieces) we run custom dye lots matched to your Pantone reference.
How do I get a quote?
Send your quantities, sizes, colors and artwork through the quote form. You’ll get case pricing, decoration options and a timeline — plus swatches if you want to feel the difference first.
