This is the shirt people mean when they ask for bamboo. It is a regenerated cellulose knit — the plant is dissolved and spun into fibre — and the result has a smooth round cross-section that feels closer to silk than to cotton against the skin. Nothing else at this price feels like it.

It also comes with a labelling rule that most suppliers quietly ignore. Because the fibre is regenerated rather than mechanically separated, US labelling requires the generic name: rayon made from bamboo, or viscose from bamboo. A garment labelled simply “bamboo” is mislabelled, and the FTC has acted on exactly that wording.
